important Railway Stations of Delhi are New Delhi Railway

Delhi is well connected by a network of roads
and national highways to all the major cities in India. The
three major bus stands in Delhi are Inter State Bus Terminus
(ISBT) at Kashmiri Gate, Sarai Kale-Khan and Anand Vihar. Both
the government and private transport providers provide frequent
bus services. |
What to Wear in Delhi.....?
Delhi has extreme type of
climate so warm woolen clothes are necessary, if you happen to come
in winters (from October to February) and light cotton clothes are
advisable for summers (from April to July). However, you may try
traditional Indian clothes too, which can be bought in Delhi itself.
Socks are necessary while touring Delhi for you are not allowed to
wear shoes inside many temples and places of worship that are
considered sacred. Comfortable shoes and sandals will help you to
walk long distances easily. However, you can buy them from Delhi
itself.
Shopping in Delhi.....?
The shopping paradise for
everybody, Delhi has everything to offer on its markets. The arts
and crafts from all the states of India are available in the emporia
at Baba Khadg Singh Marg near Parliament. Crafts Museum on Mathura
Road offers shawls, pottery and paintings. There are antique shops
in Sunder Nagar while Chandni Chowk has its hold in commercial
activities for more than three centuries. Jewellery shops at Dariba
Kalan are famous while Dilli Haat is known for handicraft and
handloom items. Connaught Place is the centre of New Delhi and
offers some of the latest items for sale. In Delhi, you can find
virtually everything - from simplest Indian handicrafts to
international designer labels at very affordable prices.
Best time to Visit.....?
On your tour to New Delhi you can
experience the fun of all the seasons. The climate of the city is
hot and humid in the summers, and cold in the winters. The best time
to visit New Delhi is during the spring seasons when the city is at
its full beauty. During the months of February to April and August
to November the city of Delhi has a pleasant climate. The city
witnesses warm weather with temperature in summer rising up to 45 oC
and the winters are also quite cold with temperature dropping as low
as 5 oC. The cold wave from the Himalayan region makes winters very
chilly. New Delhi is placed at an elevation of 215 meters. In
addition to this, most of the festivals in New Delhi take place in
the months of October to March, which adds to the beauty of the
city.
